Restoration Work

A friend of my wife's recently asked me to do some restoration work on some old Vietnam era pictures he had from his military service out of Fort Hood, Texas. Hopefully it is obvious which is the "before" and which is the "After."

Hugo Point Foliage

One of the things I like the best about Hugo Point Park is the foliage. The tall grasses and bamboo give the place a real sense of isolation and the cattails add lightness and texture to the environment.

Hugo Point Pig Hunters

While I was out at Hugo Point Saturday morning I ran into this crew out for an adventure. When we passed each other they politely asked if I had seen an pigs? This caught me off guard as I hadn't even ever heard there were wild pigs in the area. One of the young men told me they catch them and raise them and in fact had caught one yesterday. I mentioned that I hoped to see some because it would make a good picture and he volunteered to run home and get the one he caught yesterday so I could photograph it! The whole scene seemed surreal to me, it reminded me of something Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer might have done.

Hugo Point Bridge

Taken this morning at Hugo Point with my Olympus E-5 in Program Mode with the "Dramatic" Art Filter on. I cropped the angle of view my fisheye lens captured to eliminate some foreground distractions. Recorded ISO was 250, F-stop was F9, and shutter speed was 1/400.

Freeway the Dog

We rescued this little rat terrier early Thanksgiving morning running down HWY 225 in traffic. We are currently at our animal limit so we just taking care of Freeway until we can find a suitable home. Our vet says she's in good health and is around 8-10 months of age. She's very shy and is a handful at her age. We've been keeping her on our breezeway and she has eaten 3 large pot plants, the end off a rocking chair, chewed a garden hose in half, and ruined a 24" pipe wrench and an a heavy blacksmiths anvil! [I exaggerated on the last two, but not by much.] In spite of this she is a good dog and we would keep her but we would run the risk of making the evening news if we keep one more animal.
