Cade's Cove Cabin

Another shot of one of the great historic building located on Cade's Cove Loop in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park in Tennessee. This was what I considered my "A" shot for last Tuesday's BAPC "Honors Night" assignment "Monotone". As it turned out my "B" shot, posted yesterday, turned out to be the judges pick!

Nice shot! I like that your composition includes enough of the foreground to be able to enjoy the patterns made by the patches of light on the ground. Nice job on the post-processing as well!

Cheers!

This photo has a nice, "glowey" quality that is fitting considering the subject matter. My one suggestion for improvement would be to give it a little more breathing room on the left. You could do that either by swinging the camera to the left just a tad or by cloning out the steps. Although I have to say, the steps contribute to the feeling of the period in which this cabin was built so I think taking the cloning route would probably detract a bit from the photo. Content-aware scaling, perhaps?
